For those
still undecided, I’ve chosen 3 edgy New Year’s Eve party looks. They weren’t
meant to be typical or classic in the first place and I encourage you not to be
put off by the idea of replacing stilettos with boots. Fashion is more fun if keep an open mind and
break rules!
Cold dark winter mornings can be quite
depressing…
This post doesn’t seem to be anything fashion-related
but it indirectly is. Because our image is always a projection of our inside.
If you feel unhappy, it will reflect in your appearance.
Do you loathe the monotony of your everyday
routine? Hate your boring job? Have you fallen into a rut that you wish to
escape but feel helpless? Take a moment to watch these three music videos and
reflect. Halt the rush and appreciate
the simple things in life, the ones that we always take for granted. Look at
the girl jumping around on her bed like it was the best moment of her life. Look
at the fluffy clouds on the sky.
I guarantee you will instantly feel
happier.
And rather than donning your boring
usual attire that emphasises your feeling of misery, you will find some
pleasure in adding an element that says- I’m
happy to be one of a kind creature living in this beautiful world. Show that you're happy. Your style like nothing else (because getting dressed is one of the things that we do everyday regardless) can make you feel unique and if you feel unique, you feel happy.
I don't believe people who say they don't care about what they wear. The message you send out through your image goes both inwards and outwards. Even if you don't care about how the world perceives you, you should care about how your look makes YOU feel.
Embrace the 'happy' attitude to creating your look and the happiness will flow back to you.
Exuding boldness , non-comformity
colours and rebellious attitude through intense colour on your clothes or on
your hair. Deliberately drawing attention. And pretending to exist in your own space,
out of this world.
There was something fascinating in the
rave culture, psychedelic electronica house music and the fashion manifestation
of such attitude that entailed.
Today’s post is inspired by one of the
best albums of all times, Screamadelica by Primal Scream, late 90s Gucci
campaigns as well as Keenan and Joan from the amazing movie 1998 Playing by
Heart(go watch it if you still haven’t!).
